Let's Clear The Air

What Are ENDS?

Electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), commonly referred to as vapes or e-cigarettes, are devices that generate an inhalable aerosol from a liquid. These devices range from reusable to disposable models, many of which contain lithium-ion batteries and embedded electronics that pose significant challenges for proper disposal.

Based on national sales data, an estimated 500,000 vapes are discarded every day in the United States¹. This growing volume of ENDS waste contributes to fires at waste management facilities and disrupts operations, resulting in costs exceeding $95 million annually².

Manufacturers, retailers, municipalities, waste handlers, and consumers need a clear, safe, and accountable system to manage vape devices at the end of their lifecycle and reduce harm to communities and the environment.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Majority of Vapes Sold In The United States Are Illegal

As of May 2026, only 45 tobacco and menthol e-cigarette products are FDA-authorized and legal in the United States. Most vaping products sold nationally remain illegal and are often marketed to youth, putting their health and safety at risk.

A Call for Vape Reform

Urgency Requires Immediate Action

As new products flood the market and youth vape use continues to climb, it’s clear that current regulations aren’t keeping pace. The vaping industry is rapidly adapting to regulatory loopholes, leveraging gaps in existing laws to broaden its market and undermine public health initiatives intended to reduce use.

Without stronger, unified policies and decisive leadership to drive change, the improper disposal of e-cigarettes, vapes, pens, and other disposable aerosol devices will continue to rise and worsen environmental pollution, heighten public health risks, and strain waste management systems.

Do Your Part. Make an Impact.

A structured approach to managing the full lifecycle of vape devices ensures that post-consumer ENDS are returned to a permitted facility and recycled responsibly. ARXG provides end-to-end solutions that reduce environmental impact. All handling is conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations, making ENDS disposal secure, traceable, and accountable.
